My first piece in any kind of steel. I went with stainless because it was less expensive than my other options, plus, y'know, stainless. I don't really want my jewelry to rust while I'm wearing it.
Though this might be the only major piece I do with steel. Working with bronze is nothing to working with steel. I have fresh appreciation for anyone who does anything with steel rings. I probably didn't do myself any favors with the gauge on these rings, but guh. So hard.
If you look very carefully at those rings, you'll notice that these, unlike my usual work, aren't totally closed. This is because it literally took a half minute to close each ring even that much. (This is not a misuse of "literally"- it really did take me a half minute per ring.) I'm honestly not sure it's possible to close these steel rings the same way I close my aluminum ones. Not with my tools, anyway.
Suffice to say I value this bracelet very much, and will not be selling it unless the buyer would like to pay an outrageous price for it. Think I'll call it "aggravation tax." XD
